PHILL SHELDON
Clinical Social Work/Therapist, LCSW-C
I work with adult individuals and couples. As a strengths-based therapist, I believe that everyone is the most well-informed expert about their own life, and I define my role as helping clients in gaining clarity, self-awareness, and insight that can be applied toward actionable, meaningful, and purposeful change.
I have extensive experience working with grief, adjustment to illness, depression, anxiety, life transitions, and the varied ambiguities of marriage and separation (including conflict related to child custody).

My main therapy orientations are Acceptance Commitment Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy. Both models privilege self-determination, which is important to me because I view my work as helping clients define and then actualize their own priorities.

I grew up in the Maryland suburbs outside of Washington. I received my bachelor's degree from Johns Hopkins University and my Master of Social Work degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
